Bill Rootes is an Auckland based composer & songwriter originally from London UK who was initially known for his work in local progressive rock outfit Blackleaf Gardens as composer/guitar player and more recently known for his extensive solo artist work including his most recent album ‘Cultures of Abbreviation’ released in February 2017. His music has been described as a constantly shifting experience and mashup of musical genres and styles including rock, metal, contemporary classical, blues, reggae, funk and jazz just to name a few and he continues to push the limits of music experimentation just to find out what he can achieve next purely in the name of artistic curiosity.
